10-4-kate.gifThis one is overdue. Earlier this year, Kate's Paperie opened their first store dedicated to the home. Kate's love of bright colors and patterns is evident in the new expansion.

10-4-Kate1.jpgWhile Kate's original store carries smaller home items geared towards gifts—small picture frames, a few pillows—Kate's at Home expands on these areas and includes a selection of bed linens, area rugs, lamps, wallpaper and a limited selection of furniture.

In addition to an area devoted to unique paper plates and entertaining necessities, the lighting selection appeared the most expansive and well-priced. While I have seen some of the same lamps at other stores in the area, Kate's does an excellent job of merchandising and showing-off the selection. It is easy to see the multiple sizes of lamps and shades available.

Currently, the home selection is not available on the website.

i've got one of the rugs in my living room - it's pretty terrific. i needed a rug with both red and purple, but didn't want a solid or anything terribly traditional (no persians or orientals). i thought it was priced fairly, and it's held up well.

i think the rugs are company c brand, and you might save a little money by googling to see where else those products are sold.

I LOVE their lamp selection here. There is a lovely little drum-shaded, cylinder-based lamp in a cheery modern orange, aptly named "Carrot."

LOTS of material here for a modern nursery, too.

patrick, I have the same lamp in "grass" with a faux bois shade. It's the best thing in my apartment. =)
