I have 2 of these ceiling lamps in my bedroom and when I bought them, I just marveled at the thought and design cleverness that went into them. The lamp is made out of simple parts (that pack into a triangular box that stack neatly with other Knappa boxes) but make a very sophisticated shape. I bought the 11W=50W energy-saving bulb that fits into the lamp at IKEA and am slightly disappointed that it casts such a cold light--but this can be fixed. Hubby went to Barcelona this weekend and reported that he saw these lights hanging in some great apartments (and saw much Bugaboo usage).

They gather dust and are kind of hard to clean though.

I bought this two years ago for my kitchen table and absolutely love it. I use a soft white 60 watt bulb on a dimmer and it really glows. I had the same concern as the poster above about cleaning it but it has survived kitchen fumes with little elbow grease. It's one of my all-time favorite Ikea products.

i LOVE mine! but i had a heck of a time figuring out how to put it together from the ikea instructions (click on my name for how i conquered it.)

any advice on how to clean it?

I don't have this lamp, but I do have a Le Klint hanging over my dining table, which I am sure was the inspiration for this lamp. As for cleaning it, I use a combo of a good quality ostrich feather duster and canned air to blow the bits out of the inside of it. After three years, it still looks great.

(No I didn't pay this much, I got it on sale for way less. I can't believe how much it has gotten to be.)

The Le Klint is such a beauty! I think you're right, it must have been inspiration for the ikea version. I would love to get one of them, definitely have to wait for the sale.

I got one, spent way too long putting it together (I agree, the instructions are terrible..) and then hated it!

But then I hung it up and lived with it and I have really grown to like it.

It casts a really nice light, very soft. I also hung it higher than my other pendant lamp that was in the same spot, and I think it is a little less overwhelming.

I bought one of these for my dining area, and it looks so cute. And for only $20-something dollars it's a total bargain. Now that I think about it, I ought to buy five or six of these and keep them in their little boxes to save for future use.

Hi. I love this lamp also. I want to hang it in my bathroom. I was wondering how to hide the cord. I haven't got it yet and don't want to unless I can find a way to hide it. Does it even have a cord?

I assembled the lamp to hang low over my dresser in my bedroom (at about table lamp height, as if it were on a table lamp base) and halfway through I put it down on the table to go get a hook for the ceiling. It looks so good I have just left it like that-- upside down on the surface. Photos coming to my flickr page soon:
