George Nelson's iconic bubble lamps are a modern classic. Modernica, the official manufacturer and distributor of the George Nelson Bubble Lamps, has introduced "the first new Nelson Bubble Lamp in 40 years" with their release of the Nelson-inspired Bubble Lamp Shade...

Using the same materials as the original pendant lamps, Bubble Lamp Shade is a new modern way to update a traditional lamp base. The Bubble Lamp Shade comes in three sizes: 11.5'' H x 14.75'' W, 12.75'' H x 17.75'' W, and 16'' H x 20.5'' W. Prices range from $225 - $265. With the addition of a canopy kit ($75), the shade can be hung from the ceiling as a pendant lamp.
Um - No.

This is rather.....*yawn* ...boring to look at.

looks boring and dated and would make any lamp base look less then good.

I saw this last week, and it really doesn't work at all. It seems contrary to Nelson's design to suggest pairing it with a random base, too. If he had been the one designing the shade, you can be absolutely sure he would have also designed the lamp to go underneath it.

It's a bit of a disservice to Nelson to call this a "Nelson Bubble Lamp." The original aesthetic is completely gone.

i don't like it either, but it's refreshing to see something other than the saucer shape!

it just looks like a lamp shade made out of bubble lamp material? seems traditional and a nice addition if you want a lamp shade to match another bubble lamp you have in a room.
