Autoban's Octopus Chandeliers from 2005 have become part of the Autoban by De La Espada collection. The modern and utilitarian appeal of Autobahn's Octopus Chandeliers is immediately apparent. Balancing the delicateness of a chandelier with the customization of a modern lighting element, Octopus lamps are a sculptural centerpiece. This design is reminiscent of the industrial Jield lamps on a much larger and more glamorous scale...

I think they look modern and useful but a little too spidery.

It looks like a robot spider dangling down from the ceiling. A little too close to my phobia for my tastes.

I like the deign. But exposed bulbs aren't friendly on the eyes - squint factor.

billyRes--i don't get the whole bare bulb thing, either. seems like a lot of the 'modern' designs feature unshaded bulbs. i suppose if you've got 20' high ceilings or if you use 15 watt bulbs it's not too bad, but it's just not realistic for someone like me.
