Double Duty. Known for his lighting designs, Pablo Pardo has revisited and updated his 2004 design, the Light Table Bench 52 and added a dimmer switch to make this unique piece even more adaptable...


The bench is made of acrylic, steel and aluminum. It can support up to 400 lbs. and uses two flourescent bulbs (included). Light Table Bench 52 measures H 12" W 52" D 14" and costs $700 from Design Within Reach.

Considering it really looks like exactly what it is: an office fluorescent fixture hacked into a bench with two lucite feet, I couldn't imaging this being anything more than kitschy and belonging in a Mod all-white ice cave-themed night club.
For 700 dollars he could at least come up with some portable/rechargeable way to power the thing.
