Parans Solar Lighting

Let the sun shine in. This sounds like science fiction, but Parans Solar Lighting really does bring natural sunlight deep into cavernous buildings.

Through fiber optic cables, sunlight can efficiently reach over 60 feet down into dark interiors. The result is much like a skylight, but can be used even in lower level spaces without access to natural overhead light.

Has anyone ever seen this application in use?

I haven't seen it in use but I remember hearing about it for the first time in the 80's for office buildings in Japan.

Yeah, they're not cheap. It would probably take years to recover the investment.

Sunspot, I saw this more for bringing natural light into a place that did not have it instead of relying solely on artificial light.

I did not see energy saving as the raison d'etre but rather the introduction of as much natural light as possible for someone who prefers it over artificial lighting.

In which case ROI would not be a factor for me.

I was actually thinking about something like this the other day as a way of brightening up my condo's living room. Sadly, there are no dealers in the US and I am sure it is prohibitively expensive.
