Mercury Glass lamps have been a favorite of ours ever since we got over our first crush on Martha Stewart (years ago). She used to sell great ones based on the vintage styles she found and the trend took off. Years later, it's still around.
Over at Crate & Barrel they keep popping out a hot shape each season. Last year it was the Orly (still hot), and this year it's the Savoy Table Lamp ($249). Made of mercury glass with an ivory silk shade, this tall vertical number adds strong shape to a room, but is still visually light. It would be great flanking a sofa, bed or even on a hall table as the shiny, shiny surface makes us giddy.
Yes, those lamps are fabulous. But I love that faux bois table! The table isn't from C&B, is it?
