We have this lamp and I can't say enough good things about it. One of the nicest things is that it frees up significant real estate on each of our nightstands.

I have the Portica stainless steel canopy bed from Room and Board. How would this look with that? Too much???

i don't think the stainless steel would be too much with the portica bed. especially if the walls are painted an interesting color.

Yes! I just bought two of these to use as sconces in the hallway to highlight some art. They can be hardwired and look great! AND they're super cheap at $61 a pop - no tax, no shipping here:

Does it get hot with halogens overhead like that. Maybe that's an issue only here in Florida.
