apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Ventana Lamp from Pablo Pardo

2004_8_20_ventana.jpgGood thoughts run in circles... We have seen this for a long time, but never really thought of it as too practical. Then last week, our new friend, Jeannie, over at Houseinprogress, told us to take another look at it, especially as a room divider in a small apartment. We did. Then on Sunday we saw Funfurde posting it....so we're jumping in....late again.

2004_8_20_ventana2.jpgDesigned by Venezuelan designer Pablo Pardo, who founded his design/manufacture company, Pablo Designs in 1993, the Ventana is a telescoping 9 foot curtain of light that can be mounted on or off of the wall. It can be pulled up or down, like a windowshade, and we think it would be an expensive but beautiful way to cover an open doorway to a bedroom or some small study. It comes in 15" and 30" widths from Pablo Designs and YLighting. (Thanks, Jeannie!) MGR

If the wall mounting isn't your speed, but the the "light as divider idea" is, look into IKEA's new-ish Dunker Floor Lamp/Room Divider.

If I'm not mistaken, The Terence Conran Shop also has a similar option.
