Responding to our call for nusery interior decor ideas, Melinda sent in the dramatic red nursery they put together for her daughter. This is another labor of love with all the elements coddled together from various sources and lots of DIY. (Thanks, Melinda!)
"Here is Amy's nursery. We really did this on the cheap. Wish Ikea still made these Tise drapes. We love the pole lamp. We could not find a changing table we liked so cut out the shelves of an $8 Salvation Army find and inserted drawers. Our older toddler uses the free computer on 50's tile table."

Love that it's room-colored, rather than themed with teddy bears and rainbows (I've always figured people can tell it's a nursery by the baby in it)... and I'm developing a guilty passion for your pole lamp.
I'm a different Melinda than the one who sent this in, but I love it. It looks like a room that can grow up as your kids do.
Anyone know where she got the corner lights? They're beautiful!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this room! I am still getting over my yellow on yellow nursery and I'm 35 years old. Your child will appreciate this more than you'll ever know.
Side note: You either have a ton of spirits in your house or a very dirty lens on your camera :)
Where are you hiding the toys & books? It seems like one wall did not get photographed?
Love the color of that wall! I have the same one on one wall in my kitchen!
HI everyone.
I am Amy's mom - the room is tiny so toys are all over our living room where we mostly play. Books are kept in a plate rack on wall above changing table. The wall that was not taken is just door to the left of the toy box. The pole light was a fleamarket find (some good ones on ebay though). Thanks for the encouragement and sorry about dirty lense (little fingerprints!)
love the red and the curtains! (what's the paint color?)
love the fact the space is Polyamory.
love dapper dans girlfriend.

IKEA's PAX wardrobe system works GREAT for toys. :-)
