Look! : Big Vintage Clock in the Dining Room

On Friday night we went with some friends to a restaurant in Amagansett, NY (The Meeting House) and admired this big clock on their wall. We snapped a few pics and did a little sleuthing....

The first design note we made was how nice a large clock like this energizes the space - how the oversize quality of it makes it a dramatic feature in the room. This can also be done in homes, where oversize clocks or mirrors create focal points.

We then went looking for the Electric Time Co. in Natick MA and found that they're still around, do Tiffany's clocks and specialize in big industrial and commercial clocks for both indoor and outdoor use:

For over 70 years, Electric Time® has been a master in the art of handcrafted clock manufacture and design. Our choices of indoor and outdoor styles range from silhouette clocks and tower clocks to post clocks, street clocks and wall clocks.

And if you are interested in vintage clocks and time, they have some great links here. As for finding one of these, we don't know where these folks got this one, but here are some good source links:

Ruby Beets in Sag Harbor (where they might have found theirs)
The City Foundry on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn

After looking thru the website I still couldn't find this one. Are you sure it's still available?

Love it! I followed the link to Electric Time & received the extra surprise of seeing the Town of Norwood clock on their home page which, just happens to be my hometown of Norwood, MA!
