They fastened evergreen boughs to a wood structure and it looked great. It smelled great, too. Very over-the-top, and not practical, but I still wished that it was within the realm of possibilities to have one...
Perhaps this could be done in some way that would make it practical and comfortable. (Thanks, Matt!) MGR

ReadyMade magazine did a cover story sometime...I think it was last year...on "lawn" furniture. This was "furniture" made partially out of sod, which produced a lawn with armchair/sofa-shaped lumps. It was really interesting and really amusing and it changed my attitude towards some kinds of built-in furniture.
It will be interesting to see where this microtrend goes.
407 Furniture (a custom shop out here in L.A.) has a prototype in their showroom of a low, oversized ottoman covered completely in astroturf. Can't remember the exact dimensions, but it was large enough for two to lounge comfortably. Unfortunately, the piece is not currently featured on their website www.407furniture.com
