We're completely obsessed with factory girl Brigid Berlin's latest show, currently on view at John McWhinnie through November 22nd. These smart, hilarious needlepoint pillows are obsessive recreations of New York daily tabloid covers Berlin loves to consume. While we're not even sure these are for sale, they got us thinking about some other fabulous needlework we thought we would share...

Jonathan Adler carries several humorous needlepoint pillows. Pictured above (from left to right) are his "Disco Dandy" pillow, the new "Belts" pillow, and the fabulous (Liza!?) "Disco Lady". All are $165.00.
The Well Appointed House offers a huge selection of needlework (not all of which is so kitsch-heavy). Below (top row) are: "Queen Of Spades", "American Elk" and "Crab" which are between $95 and $150; and (bottom row) "Hairy Winston", "Prince Charming", and "Boston Terrier" pillows. All are $68.00.

I adore Brigid Berlin, even if she's become a crazy dog lady these days. I was born a decade too soon. Viva la Factory!

kimdog, have you seen "Pie in the Sky," the documentary about Brigid Berlin? I would totally buy a pillow just out of love for her.

If you want to see something brilliant you guys should check out my friend Maria E. Pineres' work... she has been doing art needlepoint for about 4 or 5 years and her first show in 2005 was of celebrity mug shots, which this Brigid Berlin show seems to be an echo of.

So amazing what she does with color! Most of her work if for hanging on a wall, but she also has some pillows that were in later shows, from her 70s porn series.
