There is something magical about a house shaped like a "house." These buildings are instantly cozy and comfortable. Arkinetia has floorplans and more amazing pictures (some after jump) of Casa en Morina. The house was designed by the Czech Republic's ARCHTEAM...

This house is really amazing. I like it... and I will dream of it. I wish you a very good night from France, because it's time to sleep. I'm going to bed!
Bravo for your very nice sites.
Shouldn't the intro have said "a house shaped like a 'barn'"??? That's what it looks like to me...
Oh! this wins the color contest, hands down!
Man..... I love the colors! cool house... not sure if I would like to buy it but its different for sure
Love the look, but what are the inside walls and floors constructed of? It looks like some kind of plywood - I would be concerned about offgassing, if that's the case. Not healthy.
the roof of this structure fundementally weakens the structure.
the structure points upward as if ordained accepting no thing that is mirrored upon itself,
it 'sheds' all apex of its being.
you can vent at my thought...its full of holes.

I visited a very interesting site, they have a vast collection of books which have been categories and are presented to viewers in an easy-to-search format. You should check it out.

Agreed, it looks like a barn.
Im sitting here having a chuckle at this. You people have some of the most beautiful impressive and internationally known and celebrated buildings in new york city... and you are ooing and ahhing over a barn?
*shakes head*
Maybe this is a dumb question, but do you have to go outside to close those doors if the sun is too much? And how do you get the second floor 'shutters' closed?
I really love the colors in the first pic.
Here's a community of very similiar barn-like architecture, albeit devoid of any color, out in the midwest.

charming
Looks great!
(What on earth is ion talking about?)
I think the exterior is lovely, but the interior is cold and hideous -- is that partical board lining the walls?!
Re: Barn vs House
For those for whom the house reads as a barn -- do not forget that the house is in the part of the world where shutters are truly functional. I think that the horizontal slider shutters on this house are what make it read as more of a barn than a house. However, to be fair, you have to view the piece in its cultural context.
Just a thought.
