The large wooden doors of our old house number, 203, inspired a walk up Manhattan's east side (and another on the west that never happened) to check out the city's other 203's. What we found was variety beyond expectations. The walk took us down new blocks we would not have experienced otherwise. The anticipation for the next "203" was always high and the journey left us with a small collection of doorfront snapshots depicting the neighborhoods of our fellow 203-dwellers. We're now in house number 39 and are looking forward to a walk that will take us closer to the center of the island. A few shots from the last walk are shown here:

What a fabulous idea! Reminds of that show with the guy traveling across the US looking for people with his same name.
Too bad my house number is so large ... I wouldn't find many with the same number ;-(
Are you going to do anything with this collection? (i.e. have a show, etc.)
Regina, this is such a great idea! Fantastic for personalised and original art.
Also a good sidebar activity for the AT know your city walk in december.
Wonderful! I love pics of doors...fabulous concept for a coffee table book. Go walking!
oh, you guys make me miss New York City so much. What a great collection!
wow, that is such an amazing idea!!
thank you SO much for sharing!
What a fun/creative way to connect your space with the other 203's of the world! I'm in the process of framing my own current obsession with doorways; thank you for the inspiration to do more.
i often do something like this, but my number is 46. great photos, i love that someone else does the same silly little things that i find myself doing.
Doors are great I digital shoot them all the time. Sometimes with movie camera to catch the weirdos that live in them!!!!!
