Look! Knoll Swivel Chair

8-4-knoll1.jpg

Over at a client's on Tuesday, we complimented her on this chair and she said, "Oh, that old thing? it was left here by the previous tenant." We loved it. We asked if she knew who made it. No idea. We took pictures and we looked underneath. Turns out it is an old Knoll piece with cool rubber casters from the Faultless Caster Company, but we have no idea of the name or model. Do you?

I like it and it looks way more comfortable than the generic office chair I'm sitting in right now. Anyone know who has something similar before my ass and back cry uncle?

The upholstery on this looks nothing like a Knoll piece.

It's a swivel arm chair designed by Bruce Hannah and Andrew Morrison for Knoll in 1970.
From Paul Makovsky and Michael Silverberg of Metropolis magazine.

If the owner didn't want it I hope it was rescued and given a good home.

I couldn't stop laughing when I read ERIKA'S comment. "looks nothing like a Knoll..." I could almost hear her whiney-bitter-tinny voice spreading her know-it-all negative energy everywhere she SITS. Hey, ERIKA baby!, reading Dwell cover to cover won't make you an authority on much! Warmest regards, -BIG BEN
