Look! Milk Jug Lamps at Anthropologie

Those crazy folks over at Anthropologie surprise at least twice a year with the cool and creative stuff they do in their store. This season it's their milk jug lamps that it looks like they've wired up themselves...

The bottles are hung in a row and are lit from within with a long refrigerator bulb, you, know the kind that looks like a hot dog. They use round white wiring and a simple plastic fitting through the top of the jug finishes the hack nicely.

Of course, you could say that these are contemporary copies of Tejo Remy's Milk Bottle Lamp from 1960, but then they might also have been inspired by Neale McDavitt over at Whimsy Inc, who has a really nice version of the plastic milk jug himself.

clearly I'm not cool because I just don't "get it". I think these look pretty ugly.

No comment on the milk jugs, but the latte bowls under them are fabulous. I have 4. They come in great colors, are thick and durable, and are only $4 each. Quite a "bargain" for good 'ol Anthro.

Delightful. Love Anthopologie when they do the unexpected.

angorian, if it helps you "get it", these are not for sale, they are part of a sales display (for latte bowls, apparently). Anthropologie (particulary the one on West Broadway in NYC) is known for this sort of thing.
