1. New Fireplace Mantle and Hearth ($2400)- This regular old brick fireplace was just covered with limestone (Bataige Blue) by Bella Tile. They took care of the whole thing and have done a great job.

2. New Lamps ($300 ea)- There are two of these on either side of the fireplace. Made by Alex Marshall and sold at Desiron, we hear that Desiron is closing these out. No matter, go the the source: www.alexmarshallstudios.com, for other stores.

3. New Iron Nesting Tables ($675) - These simple metal tables come in different finishes (ours are brown with a rusted finish) and are the sort of thing that Desiron does best. (Thanks, S & T!) MGR

Gorgeous!
great mantle/fireplace surround! het speaking of fireplaces, I can never figure out the allure of the "raised Hearth" you see in so much new-construction fireplace design. whats the deal? is it a zoning thing due to having the fire on floor level? I was reading a shelter mag recently, where the home-owner announced raising the hearths so they wouldnt have to bend over to tend the fire, that sounds nutty to me... How many fires do they have that they get sore backs from making fires?????
