Look! Our Neighbor Spills Her Paint

Isn't the glossy surface lovely? Stepping out our door yesterday, we had the priceless opportunity of watching someone else do something truly awful that we've done before. Walking home two gallons of paint and a dog, our neighbor lost control of one of the gallons and...

...it ended up open on the sidewalk. With great good humor she posed for this portrait and ran home to get newspapers to clean it up. We dashed into the cafe nextdoor and put out some paper cup cones to ward off errant feet.

She's lucky she spilled it outside, and not in her house!!!!

I hope it wasn't $130 a gallon Pantone paint. Ouch!

The cones are a great touch.

But if I didn't know better, I'd assume that four people walking out of the coffee shop had just crashed into each other, dumping their precious lattes in one perfect puddle.

Yeah it looks like Mr. Softee melted there in a big chocolate pool. Poor woman!

My dad did that 1. in the back hall of my parents house 2. in the trunk of his Honda Accord. I supposed one thing to be grateful for by not being allowed to paint in my apartment is that I can't spill paint everywhere!!!

My sister once drove off after having placed a gallon of paint on top of her car (doh!). It fell off and exploded once she hit the highway. You can still see the splatter mark.

Next time this occurs, grab a roller or brush and brighten up those dull and uninspiring side-walks. Beats blood, no?

I did this once (accidentally) outside an estate agent office. Carrying it home via the tube, the handle snapped. White paint everywhere - it took 5 years before it properly disappeared. It was quite embarrassing.
