Look! Small Skyscraper Fence in Brooklyn

skyscraper-fence-1.jpg

Enjoying the unseasonably warm weather last Sunday, we spotted these skyscraper fence posts on Clinton Street in Brooklyn. Though the spire of the Empire State Building had been damaged, we loved this little hint of New York City on the sidewalk...

With lots of people and very little gardening space, the small area around openings in the sidewalk (is there a name for this space?) often have unique fencing and decorations....we've seen toy castles re-purposed here to protect trees from dogs and concrete creations inlaid with marbles and golf balls...

I love this. It makes me smile every time I walk by. It is a little hard to see from the picture, but the front is the Brooklyn Bridge.

shebear - I thought that might be the bridge. Too bad there isn't an image with a better angle.

I love that the fence is on just three sides. As a frequent car passenger, I constantly do battle with the curbside fence. Either the fence, the car's passenger front door, or my shoe ends up worse for the wear. Whoever did this was clearly thinking ahead (or had the fourth side taken out by overzealous car door opening)!

Well done!
