Had dinner at this great Bistro on the Seine - La Rotisserie du Beaujolais - and sat in these chairs. Totally sturdy, comfortable and classic.
The Palais Royale has remarkable arcades that give you a strong feeling for classical French design. Totally centered and carefully leading the eye towards a distant view. Note, as well, how active the floor tiles are when turned on the diagonal.
This was just such a sweet little accomodation of old design that we snapped it. This spiral staircase is very narrow, has no banister and snakes up by the window of a shop on the Left Bank.

I am really loving these photos of Paris. Thank you!!
Well. My excitement has doubled.
Thanks from me too. Loving those yellow tablecloths!
That's not the Palais Royale. It is Galerie Vero-Dodat. The Palais Royale has no passage that has shops on both sides of the walkway, but G V-D does, in spades. To verify, check out another view of the same space you show at http://www.insecula.com/salle/MS01318.html
