We've seen it used in spectacular ways in restaurants and retail spaces around the city. Cascade Coil Drapery makes a sort of chain maille drapery that is used in the home, too.
Most commonly, it's seen as a material for fireplace screens, and it can be purchased online as such.
But just imagine the possibilities for this material as window treatments, privacy screens, or space dividers. The material is available in a range of metal finishes like brass, copper, pewter, and stainless steel.











There is a big installation of the mesh in the window of the MoMA bookstore (in the new building) on 53rd street. The edges are kind of raggedy but the overall effect is nice.

I love this idea. The window can be open and allow airflow while providing a bit of privacy. Though I would miss the romantic billowing of the sheers...
