What a day. The heat. The rain. The messiest closet in NYC.
After a weak start, Riian's Bedroom Tragedy took the lead late last night and left The Garridos' Non-User Friendly behind. Riian crossed the finish line at 4pm today with a healthy lead of 53 votes. A lot of people think she needs help.
Therefore, congratulations are due to Riian for taking first place. She and her husband will get our best efforts at consulting and (infinitely more valuable) a closet makeover from Astech Closet Systems. We also expect before and after pix, AND tremendous improvement.
The Garrido's are due congratulations as well and they will receive an autographed copy of our book with a congratulations letter for being a part of our community and putting themselves out there.
As for the rest of you, all of those who said that these closets weren't so bad, we have only one thing to say: Where were you? If you had worse, why the heck didn't you pick up and enter? We won't take any backtalk until you walk the line. We expect to see you all next year.

Hey, I'd enter--except I spent much of the last year whipping my closets into shape. And I have a contractor coming tomorrow at 9am to give me an estimate on ripping out the wall between the two closets in my bedroom.
And for the record, I actually thought the closets were overly bad (not the opposite!) and that serious pruning is needed even with professional help. (And God knows I know about closet pruning first-hand now. It's painful.)
But I'll go to sleep now so that I can be bright-eyed for the contractor--and because I don't want to incur more wrath. ;)
