lostcitylogo.gifOnce given the distinction as the Top Mid-Century Modern Furniture Store in New York City by New York Magazine in 2002, Lost City Arts has continued to showcase a wide range of mid-century furniture, all of it in excellent condition with an ever-changing inventory...

Lost City serves as a great primer for anyone who wants a good sampling of this period, featuring all the big names of the period including Eames, Bertoia, Aalto, and McCobb. In addition to their vintage collection, they also produce new pieces from old designs that have the polish and softness of being brand new.

Problems? Not many. Most items run from $300 (side chairs) to $3,000 (tables) to $6,500 for a McCobb sideboard. You will see a few $32,000 price tags, but this is not the rule.

This has always been my dream shop for when I win the proverbial lottery! I used to live nearby and just walk in for some eye-candy.
