2005_1_20_brat.jpgSpoiled Brats is a healthy mix of loud mouth New York attitude and organic, holistic mindfulness. Providing organic and all natural food, vitamins and supplements for dogs, cats, fish and birds, they can work with "every dietary situation" to spoil your brat.

Marcus says: The sheer variety of good dog and cat foods is unbelievable, and the staff is fantastic. It's a little hole in the wall (with rescued cats wandering through the store, rubbing up against the customers and hoping to be adopted) but it's got a dedicated customer base in the neighborhood - the PetLand Discounts that opened half a block away several years ago hasn't seemed to hurt them at all.

CitySearch says: Highly recommended. A favorite.

I just have to say that is the best name for a pet store. My kitty is so spoiled, he always gets his way, and the best food I can find.

Spoiled Brats also has a wonderful cat rescue and adoption program run out of the back of the store. We have adopted two kitties from them and we couldn't be happier! If you're in the market for a cat, definitely go to them; you'll be doing a mitzvah AND ensuring that your new pet is properly spayed/neutered and healthy.

This place is fantastic! The owners, Eddie and Sed, really know their stuff in terms of how to feed and care for your pet--AND I never felt that they gave me a hard sell. In fact, you're more likely to come away with free samples than stuff you don't want! Also notable for their wide array of fashionable leashes, harness, doggie clothes/booties/carriers, and pet beds, all nestled in a little bitty store. They also special order. This is my favorite pet store in NYC.

Spoiled Brats is my local pet shop and I can't sing their praises enough. Terrific store!

I was touting Spoiled Brats last week on the Zoomies thread-

In addition to a huge selection of food, Eddie and Sed also carry all the designer dog bags, and dog sweaters and cloths that upscale pet boutiques do, but without all the attitude. It's amazing how much inventory they keep in that space!

I have to say, I don't get the description in the header as "a healthy mix of loud mouth New York attitude". That line kind of threw me. I don't see any loud mouth or attitude there at all. It's not a high attitude place. The only loud mouths I can think of is when they shout to the stock boys. It's a small neighborhood place (You can, however, see the ocassional celebrity sighting. I've heard that Donald Sutherland shops there. My wife, who keeps up with these things, has seen a few. If I ever have, then I didn't recognize them).

Sara A. beat me to it. I'm always calling my cat a "spoiled brat". Love it. If I lived in NYC I'd shop there.

Spoiled Brats is quite the treat to visit. The owners are both personable and knowledgeable. They will tell you what product works best, and even let you try a sample or return it if not satisfied. They take the time to fit dogs with collars and leashes and talk to you about your pet concerns. The most amazing thing of all is that they give up prime real estate in their store for no profit to allow a rescue group to house cats until they find homes. These people really care about animals.

Eddie, an owner of Spoiled Brats is the best. He gave my son a job, took care of my dogs, and attended my husband's funeral....you can't get better than that. So, I applaud his devotion to animals....just ask Mercedes (my Sheba Enu) :) He knows his products and how to treat people... I only wish there was a Spoiled Brats in Windham, NY....
All the best Eddie.
