Only a few movers get the thumbs up. We keep hearing about movers who are cheap, fast and honest, and do our best to weed out the truth from the merely enthusiastic. Truth be told, however, we rely on comments to provide the final word. Here is what WE know about Rabbit Movers...

Their website says:

We started this effort with an old van, strong backs, and not much experience. But early on we realized an important nuance of moving, and thought it was special. Whether residential or commercial relocation, a move is a major change. It's the close of one chapter and the opening of another. It's exciting, scary, and inspiring. It's also very, very stressful. But for us - for the movers - when we pay attention - it can be almost magical. In the script of life, there are chapters, and then there are strange little spaces between the chapters. That's where we spend our days. We're with you between the chapters. We escort you and your belongings from your old home to your new one, and then we're gone. Our aim is to do this with the grace and confidence of a Beatrice leading Dante from the Moon to the Sun, and with the same quirky cuteness of a Rabbit leading Alice to Wonderland. Our standards are absurdly high, but more often than not, we meet them.

Maybe we're a sucker for poetry, but that sounds pretty damn good to us.

One of AT's readers says:

I decided to go with Rabbit Movers a month ago after reading the positive responses [on the comments page], and there's no way I will ever use anyone else. They were nice, professional and worked their asses off, and finished the entire move (two apartments into one) in roughly three hours. Great guys who treated our stuff well. They were EXACTLY on time, too. Could not recommend more highly.

Yelp and Citysearch give them pretty good reviews as well!

Wow. I'll keep them in mind.

I can't imagine what it's like to have movers reciting sonnets and performing pirouette's while packing my dishes.

Fabulous!

I used Rabbit Movers for my move a few months ago, and they were great, and not as over-priced as some of the other moving companies around NYC. I would absolutely use them again!

What I know about Rabbit Movers is they didn't return my call. I wound up using All Star Moving and Storage. I was very happy with them.

Yeah, I really wanted to use them a year ago for my move but after leaving about 20 messages over about 3 weeks time with NO call back I gave up on them.

I just used Rabbit movers a few weeks ago for my move into a beautiful 5th floor walk up. I originally emailed them and heard back the next day. They were able to make an appoitment on a weeks notice for an end of the month move. The movers were early, but called to make sure I was available for an earlier start time. The guys were super nice and moved my stuff up five flights without one complaint! And they fit into my meager budget! I would defiantely use them the next time I move.

I had one GREAT experience with Rabbit (moving from Astoria to the East Village) and one sort of "meh" experience with them (from the East Village to Ft. Greene). The meh experience entailed them not wrapping my mirrors in any sort of protective anything (they were very good about wrapping everything else in plastic & blankets), and they got cracked during the move. One of the guys also dropped my TV, but luckily it was not damaged. They were very apologetic and nice about it, but I was just kind of weirded out that they didn't even bother to wrap something as fragile as a mirror! :\ I would use them again (because they are reasonable and pleasant), but I would probably supervise the operation a bit more to make sure the more breakable stuff is protected.
