moving man.jpg Civilized help for light moves. If you call Housing Works to have them pick up your furniture, there is a good chance they will send Frank Vogel and his partner. When I met him a few months ago, I asked him right away if he was for hire, and he said, sure! Specializing in light moving (small numbers of furniture that will fit in a van, and not a whole apartment) for 30 years, Frank calls ahead, shows up on time, and is gone in a flash. It is also nice to know that he has Housing Work's endorsement. MGR

Actually, Frank sent some of his team to pick up my furniture donation to Housing Works. These were not men that I would have trusted with my own belongings!! No boxes, no moving pads, nothing to keep the armoire's doors closed - this coupled with their clear disgust at actually having to move an armoire made me wonder if my donations would actually make it to Housing Works in any sort of re-saleable condition.

Maybe it's different if you are a paying customer..
