Tell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it: I have a very small apartment in Rome. It is only 45 square meters and I bought it last year. The best feature of the apartment is its spectacular view. It is located in a fantastic neighbourhood very near to the historical center of Roma, in the south. It was a former industrial area, you can see some pipes and a gazometer in some pics. In the same neighbourhood is located the area of the ex general market of Rome, that is now undergoing on restoration with a project of Rem Koolhas. So, the area was perfect for me but, also the balcony had this great view above the Tiber river in Rome. My Great Outdoors: Micol's Roman Balcony

So, the area was perfect for me but, also the balcony had this great view above the Tiber river in Rome. I have discovered that the river is a natural corridor, and besides the ducks that live under my balcony I have seen every kind of birds going towards the center and towards the sea at south. In my house I don't hear any traffic sounds and it's just like living outside of the city... I love it.
I'm an architect and have done some improvements to the apartment but they the renovation is still in progress. The balcony is very narrow, so until now I have just used a lounge chair (as you can see) and some plants. My intention is to create a little dining area... Perhaps somethig tranformable, as the rest of the house. In the balcony I see the most beautiful sunsets. I hope you like it, it is my personal paradise.
How did you create it? I added the bamboo frame to the glass that separates my balcony from the my neighbours, and planted some bouganvilees, iris, panzee...
