apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

April is the Smallest Croolest Month!

Let's get small. Today we start up our three ring circus, blogging all that is great and small. At our seven sites (Decor, Kitchen, Nursery and Home Tech), we're taking submissions until Friday (we got a bunch over the weekend, but we still need more), and we'll start posting them next week.

Got something that's wonderful and small? A store? A product? An idea? Email us and we'll post it if it's really good: newyork (at) apartmenttherapy (dot) com.

Is "croolest" a pun I'm not getting?

anne, it's the opening line in eliot's wasteland.

this studio is my favorite from last year's contest. i have a similar penchant for wood on the walls. we've got brazilian cherry on ours!

Okay, someone needs to make an arbitrary call on the international issue.

If you're in Canada, go with the U.S. region closest to you.

If you're in the rest of the world:

Europe and Africa = East Coast
Asia and India = Pacific Northwest
Latin America, the Middle East, and Australia = Southwest

If you're a penguin in Antarctica, you're on your own.

This was my favorite entry from last year's batch, and thought it epitomized small and smart living in big style. I'd move in!

Hope this year's contest brings much more of the same! And lots of goodnatured, civil discussion.

Wood on walls makes for nice photo but I wonder if the dark color makes a small space feel even smaller. I tried to avoid dark colors in my small Miami loft for that reason.

Hi everybody,

Clove & I just wanted to wish all much luck. We are excited to cheer everybody on & look forward to the party! Our backyard is still very much a work in progress, but we want to have folks over to our little pad for cocktails alfresco.

much love,
Jenny & Clove

I'm submitting our apartment, but reluctantly as if the entries are anywhere as good as last year, I'm afraid I need more time!

I guess can't hurt to try :-)

Smallest coolest: Home Outfitters in Toronto sells a over-the-toilet hanging TP bar shelf. great for tiny bathrooms where there's no space to hang a bar. unfortunately our washroom is old, so the tank doesn't fit it. Gr!

Closet organizer--

I like that they contained the darkness of the wood to the area most deserving of "enclosure"... the bed. And since that area really is barely the size of the bed itself, I doubt the brightest white would have made that area seem any larger.

But can see taking a different approach in a warmer, brighter climate like Miami's.
