Thanks to Allison and Abefroman in this mornings survey, we now have a map of ourselves over at Frappr:
This is a totally new concept to us, and it certainly is a cool way of seeing where we all are. It also will be a nice way of plotting out where to go next. Check it out and put your own marker on the map! There's also a chat function that is sending wierd new sounds to our computer already..... Where are the other NYC'ers? There are currently 24 people on the map....

I'm on the map, baby!
Frappr is kind of a pain, but it'll be cool to see where everyone is
This will be great. I've been wondering how many other Portland, OR Apartment Therapy addicts are out there.
Frappr is a great concept and I recently set up a frappr map on cubeowner.com just for fun, so the community could see where fellow cube owners live - but the site is so poorly executed. It's unattractive, not all that user-friendly and lacking in features that you'd expect while at the same time being overrun with features that appeal only to the young myspace crowd (which I really don't relate to)
I added some "places" for AT city sites that already exist. But since they aren't obviously advertised on AT anywhere I can see, I'm not sure if there are others. I put in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.
oops. I obviously missed the AT survey.
Allison, the links to all the other sites are right under the banner on top of the page.
bubble - aha, that's the problem. I use an older version of mozilla (not firefox) and some things end up blank for some reason ... so my AT has no banner whatsoever. I didn't even realise there was supposed to be something there that I couldn't see!
Abe Froman? The sausage king of Chicago?
Mine's up. Norfolk VA!
hehe, an Elvis Costello fan would get that reference :)
Elvis Costello ?? Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago, is a Ferris Bueller reference for me.
pssst, allison, click amber's name (amber being the one who "got" the reference).
I signed up, but the site needs a lot of work. Maybe we could make a "cure" for sick websites.
Don't get SNOOTY with me!
i personally want a columbus AT. it's a fairly large city & we have loads of art & design here. plllllllease!
Don't bother having a NW Florida one. Heh.
Oh hey, there's someone else up in Inwood!
Upstate Manhattan! Yeah!
Yipee! More Texans are popping up every second (I know some of y'all cringed when you read that line ;) How about a Houston AT? Sure everyone says Dallas has the style, and it's true, but that's why we need y'all.
Clunky site, yes, but still very cool to see all my AT compadres. Oh, and another vote for Portland from me!
I'm for Houston as well! Id be happy to help; since Kuhl Lindscomb is my second home.
I can't figure it out.
Curtis:
Took me a while too. When you click on the link look to the right hand column toward the top. It wants your username, city, etc. and you'll have to enter the code. That should do it. It takes a while for the page to load, so be patient.
ps. that's 2 votes for a Houston AT - do I hear 3? anyone? anyone?
Strange, I added myself to the map (Brooklyn) yesterday, but now I don't seem to be on it anymore?
It would be neat if we all posted pictures of our apartments....
Interesting proposition sarahw. I'll post one of my kitchen during renovations. How about you?
I put up a profile late last night; and then promptly pulled it off first thing this morning. I guess I'm not a Frappr/MySpace/Friendster/etc-kind-of-guy. Personally, I felt a little too exposed...
Geez, what a hassle to change anything on that site. I give up...
