What a great party! Thanks to everyone who showed up to support us.
Not only is everyone in Los Angeles so incredibly nice that giving a party here from 3,000 miles away was easier than trying to pick up your dry cleaning after work on 6th avenue, people came out of the woodwork to meet us and meet one another.
(Alec is at work right now).
We were pleased as punch with how many people showed up (@50) and even more impressed by the warm feeling that permeated the room. It reminded us of how absolutely important it is to be LIVE in this world, even when your business is online. We'll be working on the next party, and, in the meantime, here are a few pics we remembered to take:

Alec "the Editor" and Adam Silverman of Atwater Pottery.

Olivia and Laura dropped in and made the online experience real.

Enrique! What more can we say?

Maxwell and Alec--What a great party! Thanks so much for putting it together. And, Larry--a great host, as usual.
It was great to meet everyone in person--finally. I can't wait to do it again. It was great hanging and chatting with Alyce, Zia, and Paul, and an unexpected surprise to see pals Grant and Annie. And, of course, our gracious hosts. The conversation was lively, and the wine free-flowing! Let's do it again, yes?
AND... the new AT shirts look great! When are you going to put them up on the site for sale? (I'm wearing my "small is cool" one now.)
[Maxwell. Dude, I knew that surprise close-up pic of me was going to be really scary! Um, er... thanks, I think. Ha!]
Jed--
I'd be happy to show you what I could do in a room with only you and Ikea furniture.
Wait, did I misunderstand the contest idea?!? :)
(and Enrique, you look like the total cutie we expected you'd be!
Hi Everyone! I was so excited to have met you all and will stay true to my promise to stop lurking and start commenting! By the way, I have 3 screens!
Can a brotha get a date with Laura? God, I'm so pathetic.
Congrats, guys.
*sings* I love LA. We love (A)T!
Omigoodness!. Looks like the party was a blast.
p.s. I have FIVE screens going.
tee hee
I hope none of you multi-screen braggarts have ever complained here about over indulgence...
i love Jed's idea about an Ikea competition! actually what i would like most, rather than an entire roomful of Ikea, would be ideas on taking Ikea stuff & using it in unexpected ways--making creative modifications to it or using Ikea pieces to build your own "custom" furniture, etc. I heard that Readymade magazine once did an article on this, but unfortunately i'm not a subscriber...
Sooj-
That was actually the idea I had (modification). And yes, they did have something similar in ReadyMade. I actually think both ideas would make great competitions, though.
I only have one monitor going, but it's quite substantial.
Okay... when's the Seattle version of AT coming out. We have cute little apartments here, too!
Marcia and Paul and too cute, I just love those two. Terrific designers, honest people, very dedicated. I loved seeing these photos, AT!
