AT Tech Update: Thank You Mark & Welcome to Ted!

4-22-ted.jpg

It's been just over four years, and we've had only had one man behind all of the AT sites the entire time. AND he's only done it part time. We bow down to you and thank you, Mark Wilkie, for all that you have done. And now, this week, we enter a new era: the Era of Ted. Ted Roden comes to AT from Vimeo and is our first full time lead developer. He brings with him great experience and the calm demeanor of someone who's seen it all, which is a good thing, because all you readers are a pretty demanding bunch....

In the months ahead, we are overhauling our sites and taking care of every single bug that we've seen and that you have emailed us about. We know there are a lot.

So, thanks again for all your patience in the technical realm and get ready for some improvements around here.

In honor of Mark and Ted we thought we'd share with you both of their blogs, which are super cool and highlight the kind of arcane humor and highly sophisticated ephemera that these two masters surround themselves with. Thank you to Mark! Welcome Ted!

But Ted is much cuter clean-shaven.

Hmmm....

Nice eyes, and the face is well-proportioned. The beard, though, really overwhelms the space. I'd try "less is more" and maybe a different color so it really "pops".

It is very odd that this web site is so dedicated to style and yet this man is your web master. Perhaps a senior picture from high school would have been a better choice, non?

Ted. Don't listen to them. Mark couldn't grow half of what you got goin on there. You are a modern day Samson...and that there facial flare is going to be the catalyst for all the new features we want. AM I RIGHT PEOPLE?!? Stroke that bad boy all the way to some IM capabilities. Braid it!?! We don't give a daaaaaamn! (if it means some issue-free Firefox action).

In all seriousness, welcome. Please give us a house tour.

Thank you Mark - pretty amazing to think the AT site, through big and little changes, and many expansions, has relied on you for 4 years. I owe you a big thanks, and I am probably not even aware of half the things I owe you thanks for. Good luck on your future projects!

And welcome to Ted - I love Vimeo!

Since when did this site become so critical on looks (of the human form)? Let's stay focused on what this is really about.
