It's still hot as a mackerel in our apartment when we get home at the end of the day, our coffee stop on Carmine Street is deserted this morning, we've got no AC in the office and damn! Look at all those poor folk fleeing their apartments in New Orleans yesterday! (good combined links to hurricane news on blogs)
It's August, it's hot, and once again nature is trying to kill us. Perfect time to call in sick and slink away to the beach or the park, or a nice cool movie.
But here at the AT offices, we're busy as bees.
We've got a few great Hideaway posts up our sleeves still, and all this week we'll be working on the new site in preparation for next Tuesday. Also, we'll be putting up a special post on Thursday and Friday while we switch the system completely. And then there's Nesting Month, the time we all come back to our homes and say, "this place is a dump!" or "This place is way to SMALL!" or "Man, this style is sooooo 90's!"
It'll be time for a change, and we'll be there kicking you in the butt to do something about it. MGR

At least with heat, you don't need as much clothing. It's a simpler kind of miserable.
Methinx there ought to be a third choice of "I love the fact that New York has changing seasons, and I'm enjoying those changes." But, since it's not, I think I said I like winter more. Or did I?
Terry, if I could get away with not wearing a suit to work every day, I'd agree with you.
That said, as it is, I don't really have a strong preference b/t summer and winter in NY, though.
Give me winter! I hate waiting for the 2 train in 100 degree heat and realizing I am slow roasting! I can always put more clothes on - I can only get so naked!
I'm glad I live in SF where it doesn't get boiling hot nor freezing cold...just foggy.
I vote for the heat....but I lived in Calgary, Alberta for five years when I was an impoverished, proper-coatless, public-transit-taking twenty-something. Brrrr.
shouldn't there be a choice for "i hate both extremes"? that gets my vote. you could also call it, "i'm a weenie about weather and that's why i live in california even though i adore new york."
