Half pint. Relief has come to all those who have had to buy quart after quart of housepaint when testing colors in their apartment. Everyone knows that paper paint chips are about as accurate as a Gallup poll, so it comes as good news that Benjamin Moore has had a new line of small sample jars of 260 of their most popular colors for only $3.49.
In stores for two months now - ie. Janovic Plazas in Manhattan - they are reported to be popular and moving swiftly. We wonder if the 260 colors will be enough for our attraction to obscure and "directional" colors (can we use that word?), and would love to know what others think. This is at least a great step towards cutting down on wasting a ton of paint. MGR

I used one of these and ended up painting my whole room "Dill Pickle." This is a great idea too long in the coming.
Restoration Hardware has been doing this for a while as well. I have found the mini sizes perfect for furniture painting projects as well.
I used these small samples recently, while picking colors for my apartment. In response to whether 260 colors are enough: I was only able to find a few of my potential colors. (At least this means that my home will not be the same color as everyone else's because they are not "popular" -- thanks, Max!) However, if Janovic has what you want, definitely take advantage.
My boyfriend and I ended up going with Benjamin Moore paints for our new place instead of lower-priced brands simply because we had the opportunity to test out the colors we wanted using these sample jars. We have been VERY happy with the results so far.
260 colors is not enough! Benjamin Moore has over 3000 colors. I think they should offer sample jars of their basic ready-mixed interior whites.
Does anyone know what color Restoration Hardware uses for the exterior of their stores? I have been trying to look for it, but I am unable to find it thus far. I have asked several sales persons at their stores, but they all tell me that the color is from the factory and is not available for the public. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
how can we open an account with you. We have a showroom in New York City that will need maintanance. and touch-ups with your paints is part of the maintanence.
Please advice.
Thank you.
