It's finally happening. You've been asking and we're finally ready to go North (we're heading South as well, but more about that tomorrow).
Living in Boston or its environs and addicted to furniture? Love writing and design in equal measure? House Tour junkie? We're heading north and looking for one awesome blogger to increase our coverage of the Northeast Kingdom. Let us know if it's you... (all info below the jump)
AT's Mission: helping everyday people create beautiful, organized, healthy homes by blogging resources, building community, providing inspiration, reviewing products, and tracking the news
.
Apartment Therapy is looking for (at least) one freelance interior design blogger in the Boston Area.
Responsibilities include daily posting that fully communicates the Boston and New England design scene with house tours, shop reviews, product reviews, interviews and random design notes.
This is a part-time job, starting at one post a day and amping up eventually to three (2-3 hours a day). And it's great (but not required) if your other gigs plug you in to the design scene in some way.
You need:
• a good eye for design
• strong writing skills, but no magazine schlock styling
• a really good computer
• a totally reliable high speed connection
• a digital camera
• Photoshop
• knowledge of how to use all these things
Deadline: Friday, March 21st.
Submit:
• Your name
• Where you live
• How long have you been reading AT
• What you do full time
• 1 sample post with good pics of something that would be a great ATBoston item - keep it 100-200 words max, and try to blog local subjects. Please submit posts written specifically for this and not for another blog.
To: Maxwellat4 @ gmail.com please put AT BOSTON in the subject header
We will confirm your email and reply to all emails early the following week, asking our top choices to try out live on the blog for a final sort.
Best,
Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan

Oh, come on! I just moved to New York from Boston, and the WHOLE time I was in Boston I thought, "Why isn't there an AT Boston?" Story of my life. *sigh*
Well, good luck to the folks back north.

I love DC (used to live in Clarendon) but I remember Atlanta being even more "south".

I am a full time design student in Boston, but I was wondering if there were any other positions or any other way I could be involved that would fit with my busy schedule... any ideas?

I'm ecstatic! I'm actually in Providence, but Boston is close enough. Maybe it could be AT New England so that other smaller cities are included. Either way, I'm happy.

OOO I'm a full-time NYC resident, but have a place down South and I'd love to be an AT: South to include New Orleans, as well.

thanks everyone for the positive feedback. I've wanted to get up to Boston for a long time - actually to get outside of the New York metro area - but we've been such a small team that we haven't been able to do it. I've hired a few full time folks and now we can finally do it.
Consider this the groundwork for the future: if you help us build it, we'll come.
Thanks again and I can't wait to see your submissions!
Best, Maxwell

AT DC! AT DC! AT DC! I'm in Maryland, but AT DC would be perfect. I really does have a ring to it. Doesn't it?!

I don't mean to be impatient, I was just wondering if you guys could give a hint at your timeline for this Boston thang.

About freakin time! We've been so lonely up here! And I think the solutions AT offers are perfectly suited towards Boston: Exorbitant prices for teensy tinsy spaces, a youthful and hip community bucking against the 'traditional style' of Old Boston, and a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide range of issues - from living in college dorms, to super duper extravagant highrises - and everything in between!

I would like more info on At: South. Hopefully a site closer to where I live, just wishful thinking.
