Digital Photo Help: Picasa

2005_2_3_pic3.gif

Compress. If you have been as frustrated as we have been over how hard it is to resize and compress photographs for uploading to the web, email or to OUR classifieds listings, we have found relief.

While snooping around Google's site, we discovered Picasa, a free, easily downloaded photo handling program that works on PC's (sorry Applers) and is a STUNNING program for keeping track, viewing and manipulating photos.

The compress and resize options are in the "export" button at bottom. Most amazing, however, is how it finds every photo in your computer and puts them all on easy display. We discovered some stuff we hadn't seen in awhile. MGR

I recently installed Picasa and have been really pleased with it. The editing tools are especially fun -- tweaking vacation pictures can be very addictive!

The NY Times did a nice comparison of Picasa to Apple's iPhoto recently.
