Dept. of Catalogue Oddities. Why on earth would you write your real phone number on a piece of furniture in the Falll Crate & Barrel catalogue, and then accept dinner dates across the country as curious people (with nothing better to do) stopped their catalogue shopping to call the number in the photograph? Ask Marc Horowitz. Over 100 people have called him and he is already booking his second National Dinner Tour (he's picking up the tab). (via Kottke) MGR

Yes, I'm one of the strange people in the world who actually saw the number and called it. Would you believe he actually called me back? Yes, Marc and I are having dinner in February!

I thought "What the hell, I'll have dinner with him!" I'll let you know how it goes....
