Dwell Gift: Andra Has a Great Offer

11-14-dwell.jpgWe just got this email and couldn't wait to get it out there. Andra of Hip Housewares has a great idea. She would like to offer a free Dwell magazine subscription to some deserving eco-minded shelter junkie who doesn't already have this magazine. She also wants to invite others to do the same thing. Thanks, Andra!

Hi - I just received my winter renewal for "Dwell" magazine, which I love. The renewal offers the chance to send a friend a free subscription for only $5 over the regular subscription price. If someone who wouldn't normally treat themselves (a student, new parent, struggling designer) would like a free subscription, I am happy to spring the extra 5 bucks to keep the good modern/sustainable design vibes flowing.

Also, perhaps other Dwell subscribers might want to treat a stranger to a free year? I think it is a nice way to keep us feeling like a community.

Cheers,
Andra at andra@hip-housewares.com

hmm, is that less then the 2 for 1? my coupon says 2 for 1, so pay $24 dollar renewal and a free subscription is sent to a friend.

If it's a free subscripton to Dwell then I'm waving my hand in the air!

I got my Dwell subscription (2 years worth, so far) with frequent flyer miles.

I'd also be willing to offer any gift subscriptions I come across to fellow ATers... I think I may have for H&G at home now...

Wow - what a nice thing to do. Thanks for getting this ball rolling.

I tend to pick things up at the newsstand myself, since it's a good excuse to see what's new.

But you've just made my day by making this offer. You, too, p2!

I'd truly dig a subscription if there are extras floating around! :) I don't really subscribe to any fun AT-related magazines, but I'll reciprocate if the offers come along!

Hi, I'm an ID student & if anyone would love to donate a subscription to me, I'd be grateful!

Thanks!

If there are any leftovers for grumpy paul, just let me know...

Great, generous idea, by the way.

Oooh ditto, I'd appreciate one, will check eBay too to see what the subscriptions are going for. I was just reading that issue pictured last night at the local Borders.

If anyone wants to direct a renewal my way, I'd be truly happy! Thanks!

I am like sixth in line, but I'd love and appreciate something like this; I have an autoimmune disorder and work only sporadically, and money is tiiiiight. (So much that I have no subscriptions and often just go read my faves at the bookstore.)

But I really think amy is probably more deserving; dunno about the rest of y'all. :)

Well done, Andra--you've just inspired me to get a subscription so that I can then turn around and offer a gift subscription.
What a truly ingeniuous ploy to increase circulation of shelter mags );
I'll report back when I've actually done the deed.

My available gift subscription is for House & Garden.

I'm guessing Maxwell will have to assist with the coordination of this?

Ooo, oo, I've recently become smitten with House & Garden but am on media-purchasing hiatus. Let's see, how can we freebie-wanting design nerds reciprocate magazine largess?

Hi,
Andra is referring to the 2 for 1 offer that we do -- renew your own subscription for $24 and give a gift to someone for no additional cost. It's cool that she offered up her extra sub.

If you don't have someone to sponsor you, I can make a special limited offer (I know, I know, marketing language) where you can get a sub or give a gift sub for just $12 each. I'm in the process of setting it up so you can call our toll-free number and give a special code to get the deal... bear with me. I should have all that info up by the end of today...

Thanks for your interest in Dwell! This is a great community and we all read it regularly.

I'm a new design student and would love a subscription. I love the Dwell magazines i've seen at the bookstore.

Hurray for special limited offer. I used to get Dwell with FF miles but they don't offer it anymore. (FF miles come from use of debit card. Mega-use.)

Great idea, though, and will pass on offers or freebies to shelter mags as I come across them, from now on.

Sorry for the delay -- these things always take longer to set up than planned. Call our toll-free number - 1.877.939.3553 and tell them you want to order a sub for 1 year for $12. Give them code NAT59 and you should be all set! The offer will only be good through Dec. 16th.

Pixie -
which frequent flyer plan where you able to use you miles on for a subscription?
Thanks for the info,
John
