Emails That Make Us Feel Good: Lindsay's FSBO Scores!

7-21--chair.jpg"Dear AT,

You featured us on your FSBO (198 East 7th Street) a few weeks ago and the day after you posted us we had an open house. We found a buyer who saw us on AT and offered us full asking price! We are signing the contract right now. Thank you so much for your help. Now we are looking at your other FSBO postings for something to buy in Brooklyn, and I will always turn to your site for tips when it comes to fixing up our next place.

A few weeks ago someone posted a search for these chairs. I don't have their email [Genesis this means you], but I was just cruising Craigslist and found exactly what they were looking for and only for $70!

Thanks so much for loving what you do. Lindsay

Lindsay-

Thank you for remembering my post and thinking about me as you searched Craigslist. Unfortunately, I live on the west coast (Portland, Ore.) so I can't just call and zip on over...

By the way, its fantastic that you sold your house through AT... I'm amazed at what a great resource this site is.

And just to complete the loop - we are the buyer and we're very happy and excited with our new place!

I don't believe a thing real estate agents say. I don't hate them just the tricky and unexperienced ones. Which in my opinion is most of them. Take the "no obligation market evaluation" for example, the oldest and most unoriginal term you will see advertised. Do they think people are stupid? The real definition should be, “yes I will come over to your home, tell you what it’s worth, then I will bug the hell out of you until you list it with me. In the meantime they will send you some “awesome” fridge magnets, calendars and pencils just so you don’t forget them. I have written at length about this, I'm NOT selling anything, just a frank, real world discussion.
