Emma Bloomberg's Wedding Registry

6_16_emma.jpgWe always knew that the Bloombergs were really downtown people in an uptown skin. That cute, little townhouse on 79th street is SO West Village. Hey, how about really trying to solve the city's trash problem? People on the Upper East Side don't even see their trash, but us downtown folk put it out each week (and step over it each day).

So it came as no surprise when a reader sent us Emma Bloomberg's wedding registry link at Moss. Among the notable items: The Big Mama Thermal Jug for keeping coffee hot ($450), the Large Wooden Bowl ($365), and the Candy Set of 6 Table Knives ($575). We're thinking of going in on the Big Kahuna cutting board ($210) if anyone wants to join us.... (Thanks, Doug!) MGR

I'll go in on the cutting board only if we can get the "Contender city for the 2012 Olympics" logo emblazoned on it.

You can find out all about their wedding at their website www.emmaandchris.com. The password "gotham". They are also registered at Christofle and Williams Sonoma, the latter of which has their registry online.

The cutting board's already taken. Maybe we can engrave the citrus squeezer instead?

I feel a little dirty over this thread... and not in a good way.

They have nice taste. I love the champagne glasses and the Big Mama thermal jug.

Both the Bloomberg daughters have reputations for being very nice young women, so I'll try not to be too envious of those gifts! ;)

as far as the trash problem it's definitely not happening on 79th street (i work there) but i think it's time to tell our mayor that unless the city can devise a locked sealed citywide pickup system for trash removal the rodent problem which has mushroomed just blocks away from 79th street will just keep getting worse...

I'm prejudiced against rich people, but I'm working on it, in large part because compared to billions of other people, I'm rich too. That said, Moss? --Enh.

Hey now!

I live on 79th Street, just like Mr. Mayor Bloomberg, just a little farther east. OK, a LOT farther east! And we have garbage problems and rodent problems and lots of problems over here!

Whatever magic happens between 5th and Madison, stays between 5th and Madison....
