apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

February is Bedroom Month!

How is your bedroom? Is it comfortable? Do you sleep well? Is it impossibly small? Is it in need of a makeover?

This month, we'll be delving into your bedrooms, blogging tips, resources, services and spreading inspiration for all those who aim to revamp their bedroom for optimal sleep and play ;-).

We are not going to have a Bedroom Contest this month, but - as always - we are hoping that any and all readers to send us pics of their fine work for our Look! column. SEND IN THE PICS!

FYI the pic above is a stunner from this month's Architectural Digest, which has suddenly dumped Park Avenue and the Horsey set for some super cool Tribeca work by Shelton, Mindel & Associates. The apartment is brand new with views of the river and a remarkable art collection. It is worth shelling out to buy it.

We just upgraded to the Simmons Beautyrest, king-sized pillow top and have never slept better.

A great month to dedicate to bedrooms as most home/white sales are this month, and again in August. I need me a new set of sheets!

Century 21 if you're in NYC.
It's hit and miss, but when it hits . . . nice.

Perfect timing! I have been trying to get going on a much-needed bedroom re-do. AT is always there to inspire.

Too bad it is such a short month.

hey, wasn't this featured on ATLA as the world's ugliest bedroom about a week ago?

I had a chance to buy some luxury bedding at the net net price at the Gift Fair last week. If it shows up in time to take and post pictures I'll be able to submit an entry.

My bedroom used to be an awkwardly shaped ultra tiny cave, but now it's a spacious 11X14 or something like that. Nothing too special, but I sleep well! (And unlike sleeping in a cave, I can actually wake up in the morning!)

While I agree overstock.com has good stuff... so does craigslist (http://newyork.craigslist.org). "new" is overrated - esp. when you can get something good but used. plus, i found storage to be so important for a small bedroom --- i just store everything in my magikan, including bedding stuff (http://www.magikan.com)

Ok - off for an overdue monday cosmo!

Does anyone know a source for reasonably priced linen sheets? I have a linen duvet and I love the way the fabric feels -- sort of rough but nice.

Britney, used linens? I think you were talking furnishings whilst the others were talking linens. I think used furniture is great. Used linens, not my thing!

I'm definitely submitting my bedroom for makeover advice. I fell in love with the dark walls in Turquoise and Gari's bedrooms during the Fall Colors contest -- I'm just not sure that I could pull it off withing the architectural constraints in my room. Hopefully, I will get some AT input!!

JP,
Cuddledown has linen sheets. I don't know what you ould thinkof their prices, but I love the stuff they carry (we bought our duvet, a set of sheets, and bathrobes in person at their outlet in Maine).
