Boy, is it bedroom month now. With the lovely drenching of snow (check out great reader's snow pics in yesterday's thread) and the temperature well below freezing we've rediscovered our bedroom in a new way. Especially since the heat in our small building isn't always the most active. This morning, for example, the temperature in the bedroom was 56 degrees! Getting out of bed was HARD.
How can we get you all to send in pics of your bedrooms with tips? How about this: If you want tips or advice on your bedroom, send in a pic and we'll post it as a "Needs Help" post, and if you just have a great bedroom to show off, send in a pic with a dissection of the resources within and we'll post it as "Hot or Not?" (with voting) or "Look!" (no voting). It's up to you, but jump in and share whatever you have. (Pic: Matouk Parfait)

I'll definitely post tomorrow, take some pics this evening. My room is a bit blah and needs some help....
Well, it's sort of predicated on *having* a bedroom.
...not to mention cash to implement the suggestions...
I like the "Look" suggestion. Maybe we can just peep in on where folks are sleeping and not vote on whether we want to sleep there or not.
...predicated on seeing who else also sleeps there. ;)
But you need not have bedroom walls/doors to have a"bedroom"...
I just might post something, I have this deadspot in my bedroom (which only has 3 'walls') that I have no idea what to do with.
Joey, a "deadspot" in your amazing loft with the constant light show? I'm dumbfounded.
Hey, did you ever get your baby grand piano?
In a thread last week it was told that the reason IKEA duvet covers have a higher thread count than the sheets was because other continents use the duvet as the top sheet. So today I changed the bedding. Off came the quilt and top sheet and a clean duvet cover went on the duvet. I'll sleep under it and it alone, tonight and see how it feels.
JP - was it you that suggested the tissue paper over the flash? Here are 3 photos of the bed. It's obvious which one was taken w/out flash but I don't see a difference bet. flash and tissue paper flash. Maybe I need to put a couple more layers of paper over the flash. I only used one.
I'm very pleased with my bedroom. The original room had 25 year old dirty yellow carpet which I replaced with a pergo from Lumber Liquidators. The headboard is an old Mission style piece I've had forever. The tv stand is from IKEA, as are the drapes which were simply cut to the right length.
The art above the bed is hard to see but it is an enlargement of a photo I took at the top of a mountain, in a cloud. The other photo on the wall was taken by a good friend in London's Regent Park. The walls are a soft green and were the 2nd thing I did to the whole place upon moving in after ripping up the yellow carpet. It's funny how some rooms are just right from day while in other rooms (such as my living room) I struggle with the layout and decor to this day.
I've had the duvet cover for about 5 years (made it out of 2 flat sheets) and just recently changed it out for a crisp white duvet from IKEA.
Am I weird for being a bit scared to show the world my bedroom? Especially to a community of ppl w/such great taste? Maybe I shall...I could use the tips.
