Beware! A couple of years ago a new Ikea opened at midnight with giveaways and sales near my then house in North London. The result - a riot, complete with abandoned cars on the nearby motorway and a knifing! The were forced to shut their doors minutes after. Is an Ektorp worth your life? Some people apparently want one really badly...

I can see standing in line to get something valuable for free, but otherwise, come on people this is the FOURTH Ikea in the area, we all know what it's like!!!

Umm, how poor to do you have to be that 48 hours of your life only adds up to an Ektorp sofa ( isnt it like $400)?
I really dont get it. There is no store for which I would sleep outside for 2 days.
Keep on worshipping at the altar of consumerism and see what it gets you...more crap and an empty feeling in your stomach.

Come on people! Haven't you ever heard of thrill seekers?? True it's not THAT much of a thrill, but what's wrong with people doing something crazy sometime?? Whether you like the sofa or not, doesn't really matter. It's the thrill.

I agree Sleek, I'm sure it's thrill over need.

THE THRILL? waiting outside for 48 hrs to get a free crappy sofa that is once step away from the landfill?
I don't think so.
Buy furniture made before 1970. Go for quality furniture.
