Jonathan Adler Gets a Room

palm-canyon-drive.jpgActually, he is getting more than a room. Just heard that Jonathan Adler is designing the Parker Palm Springs Hotel, which used to be the Givenchy resort, AND that it will open this fall with 143 rooms, 2 restaurants, golf course, tennis courts and a spa! It will be interesting to see what Jonathan does given free reign, and I imagine he is mighty busy right now. I just hope he preserves some of the cool elegance of his pottery work and doesn't go TOTALLY retro mod baroque 70's on us. (via New York Metro.com) MGR

I went to the Parker just last month with my boyfriend and had the most amazing time. The staff was incredible and the grounds are just beautiful. Jonathan Adler went all out on this hotel with his stylish retro/glamour revival. The lobby is increidble with its large chippendale sofa, huge 2 story plastic chandelier, a huge selection of blinko and viking glass, along with a sixties circular sofa that is accompanied by a huge indoor sixties fireplace. The rooms were huge with vintage leather chairs, danish tapestries, huge white canopy bed, and all the ammenities you could ask for. A must see if you are on the westcoast! Check to see if they are still offering the intro rate!

Jonathan Adler Rocks!! His new Madison Avenue store is the coolest. And, the upper east side definetly needed something like this. The staff is great for the most part. Big Kudos to Christian, he practically perfected my shopping experience there on an otherwise rainy day. Great job guys!
