apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

March is the Smallest Coolest Month!

2005_9_1_elemeno.jpgWelcome to Spring! It seemed like the sun was brighter early this morning and the evenings this past weekend came a little later. Mmmmmmmmmm.

In the meantime, the tempo is picking up here at AT central. AT: los angeles posted some drop dead amazing entries at the end of last week. The East Coast could lose the Small Cool Cup this year, folks.... We shall see.

Not that the East is slouching. Between the remarkable creatives who rent and yet have totally transformed their abodes and the pros who own and have totally renovated their spaces, it is a stiff race.

By now everyone who submitted has received a confirmation, and we are looking through the pool to pull the BEST complete entries, as we have received more than the 60 that we can post (hint for the future - good pictures really make a difference). If you have not heard from us and DID submit by last Wednesday, please email us right away.

Just wondering... how do you determine the finalists? Do you assign a numerical value to each of the three categories? And then add up the votes for Insta-Finalist and Contender, and then subtract the No Way Jose votes from that total? Do you average any of the tallies? I would think that a Contender vote gets less points than an Insta-Finalist vote. I'm just curious from a mathematical standpoint. Thanks.

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously) her first rose

or if your wish be to close me,i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

Hi. I'm still waiting to hear if you received my entry, I sent it last Wednesday. I didn't receive a confirmation. Thanks in advance for a response.

It seems that if you use the picture of a Tumbleweed Tiny Home, you should link and give him credit. ( www.tumbleweedhouses.com ) [_especially_ if you used it from his site.]
