Tonight's the night. While AT LA didn't like Martha's new daytime show with P Diddy "rap"ping, we go into round two tonight. The daytime show portrays Martha as a big sweetie; who will she be tonight?
We love her comment that she "doesn't like firing people." followed up with "I have other people do that for me."
But we were seriously affected by this video clip she has done for PETA, that (good for her) pits her publically against the fur trade. Watch it only if you are not eating, as you will certainly hurl.
The Roundup:
She's hired: Martha Stewart's happy to be back on air with `Apprentice': Interview with Martha in the Boston Herald
The Apprentice Website
Stewart's poncho a hit with fans Within 48 hours of going on sale, "viewers placed more than $375,000 worth of orders" on Martha's site.
"Martha Behind Bars" airs Sunday: Cybil Shepherd reprises her role. Review: "It also would be a good thing if it were a good movie. It isn't."
Stewart stock on rise as TV show hits air: The stock is back. The companies turnaround is called "fast and impressive" and the price is up 477% since Oct. 9, 2002.
Lovely Martha,
Doesn't credit the inmate who designed the poncho.
That's sad
that video was deeply affecting and graphic, but thank you for sharing it, it's necessary. i don't wear real fur typically but recently fell in love with a very stylish jacket for the fall with a hood trimmed in raccoon fur. i have to admit, i really thought about it and wanted to purchase it anyway but i think that video, combined with the allergic reaction i seemed to have to it, definitely changed my mind-for good.
p.s.
at least martha (supposedly) is donating profits from the poncho to charity.
Maybe the inmate doesn't want her name trumpeted around, since she's in prison? I know if I were in that situation, I wouldn't want everyone I'd ever known to recognize my name. Just saying that's a possibility.
She did mention the inmate on her "poncho show" last week. In addition, the inmate's daughter was introduced on the show wearing a poncho made by her mother. Also, on Martha's mother's birthday show later in the week, Martha revealed her and her daughter's $5 million gift to Cedars-Sinai for a center for aging (appropriately named The Martha Stewart Center for Living).
With the holidays fast approaching, and given Martha's new inspired take on life, post-slammer, I sooooo want to see a reworking of "A Christmas Carol" with Martha in the Ebeneezer role. The ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future could be fellow inmates...
I'm seeing Carson from Queer Eye, Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez, Angelica Houston (or Whitney Houston, what the heck) and Oprah all as casting candidates.
Or the girls from Sex & the City.
Or the boys from Oz.
And I sooooo want Martha to invite Cybil Shephard on her show. THAT could go Pay-Per-View.
love the cast line-up, i would like to see that. just don't group oprah with the rest of that crew.
P(too), you are killing me! That would be fabulous!
Ah, c'mon, Oprah would be faaabulous as the Ghost of Christmas Present! Colin Cowie would cater.
is anyone cringing bcuz they didn't think to buy some Stewart stock; we knew she'd emerge triumphant as we sent her a card in prison...arrgh!
