The festivities surrounding the inauguration kicked off today (and boy wouldn't it nice to be there), but we wanted to give another shout-out for tomorrow's Day of Service that the Obama's have called for on Martin Luther King Day. Why? Because though AT is devoted to helping people make their homes beautiful, organized and healthy, we also believe in taking care of our bigger home, whether it's our neighborhood, country or planet.
You can find out about what it's all about or find opportunities in your neighborhood at the following links:

Great reminder! I have to say that I laughed when I saw what you wrote about it being nice to be at the inauguration. I live in the area and you couldn't pay me enough money to go downtown. :) I did, however, head down Saturday morning to take pictures (view here: http://www.fromsingletomarried.com/2009/01/19/monday-musings-attending-the-inauguration/ ) of the site. It's going to be quite the event, that's for sure!!

Maxwell,
Do you have resources for places accepting donations of books, furniture, etc. in Brooklyn? In both the spirit of giving and the self-interest of de-clutter, I've been gathering up goods to give away but am not totally sure where to go.
