Even though snowflakes were flying, we made a trek to Red Hook over the weekend to select plants for our window boxes.
Gowanus Nursery has relocated there and just opened on March 31. The new location is large and, as always, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
And they're soon to have company, as Chelsea Garden Center is opening a new location there, too, just down Van Brunt Street from Fairway Market. They'll be open for business by the end of April.
Funny that both of these wonderful shops are keeping their original names: Chelsea and Gowanus in Red Hook.
