Nambe is a big company which makes a ton of stuff, both tacky and stylish, but their silver bowls are stunning and not expensive.
GUS Modern had a bunch of stuff that didn't stand out too much, but their Nixon Chair did. A solid oak lounge chair with small proportions, it comes in natural or wenge finish, and would work well in the big city.
Mud Australia wowed us with their line of tableware made of limoges and imperial porcelain. Distributed in the US by Keena.

I love love LOVE Gus Modern. Saw some of their stuff at ICFF. Yes, some is basic, but it's all super swanky and one of the only places for almost complete one-stop shpping that wouldn't look that way when you're done. Love the stainless cubes, scoop benches (wood and stainless) and I-beam tables.
Most of the stuff shown on their website is available here via designpublic.com and roomandcompany.com
Gus Modern is the BEST!
