NY Gift Fair: Twenty2 Wallbands & Ruth Hyndman Design

Twenty2's Wallbands collection held an impressive space at the Gift Fair, making it easy to see the various ways in which they could be used.

The designers, Kyra and Robertson Hartnett, explained to me that when they first started this project a few years ago, everyone thought they were crazy, because wallpaper was dead. Not so. Wallpaper is making a comeback, led by lower price point and super easy to install wallbands and decorative applications.

We discovered Ruth Hyndman's pottery for the first time. A true Californian, with colors and earthiness to match, her "hefty" collection caught our eye. Visually thick, but actually gradually thinning in the sides, these ceramic bowls summery, while her modern lamps are more cosmopolitan chic.

No! Say it ain't so! I LOATHE borders. I cannot say enough bad things about them. The ONLY place they can appear, and this really depends on the design, is in a nursery.

while i'm not that into the border look either, i really love the work by twenty2. there is a photo of one of the borders hung vertically, i like that look better than wrapped all the way around a room.
